In conclusion, I have found that the producers of a film use many different methods of marketing so that it appeals to a wider audience of all ages and genders but without revealing too much of the narrative. I have found that the more in which the film is advertised (marketed) through posters, magazines and trailers as well as viral advertisements allows the audience to become more aware of the upcoming film and the reveal of new material in each teaser trailer develops the interest rating and this means further success in terms of views, etc. However, each film must contain the appropriate material in order to enhance the interest of their target group, for instance they must show aspects of the genre in the trailer as well as the print products and the print products should be placed well in order to gain maximum attention and recognition. To gain a wider audience the films must be advertised virally for example in a wide range of cinemas or cinema guides in order to maximise a mass audience and people spreading the word about the film itself. Furthermore, it is often difficult for independant media groups to gain recognition using these same marketing strategies as they have less money, whereas mainstream has no budget so this means marketing must be done carefully, and this could be an aspect I have to remember. Mainstream films can advertise on transport and billboards in town centers, whereas independent films often depends on reviews the films have got in magazine articles. From this I will bare this in mind when creating my products by making it so that the potential audience feels like they can connect with the actors in which I use continually through the production package I am making.
- New films often have a few teaser trailers so the producers can entice more people as each trailer reveals more of the narrative each time, attracting new and extisting fans.
-Posters are a key point to advertising. They reveal the main cast, and that will draw people to the film more so if they are popular actors. They often create many posters showing a different aspect of the film each time whether it is a location, or a new character.
-Magazines advertising movies is a key element in marketing it and getting the attention of potential audiences. Front cover like total film and empire draw in the wider audiences of magazine readers more than independent magazines do. Also reviews and premieres would entice people more as more people would be rating it and if they were not interested before they may now reconsider.
